Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My mailslot door was opened, now I have
an "ERROR! CODE 90" and an error light displayed on the front panel. How do I
get my device back on line and ensure this doesn’t happen
again?
A: ”Resetting” the unit via the Operator
Control Panel will resolve the problem. This command can be assessed by
navigating through Command->Configuration->Reset on the front panel. Always utilize the Operator Control
Panel on the front of the autoloader for all accessing of cartridges for both
import/export and inject/eject operations
Note: Never attempt to manually open the autoloader door! Doing so may create a mechanical error condition requiring the autoloader to be power cycled.
· Please consult the Dell
PowerVault 122T User Documentation (located on the CD that came with the
autoloader or on the Internet @ support.dell.com) section: Operating the
Autoloader for more information on using the Operator Control
Panel
Q: The export command asks me to remove the media from slot “x”, what do I do next?
A: When the user issues an export command from the software an informational screen will appear indicating that cartridge in slot “x” can now be removed. At this point you must go to the front panel of the autoloader and export the cartridge using the Operator Control Panel. Once the cartridge is removed you must respond to the software by clicking “Okay”.

Q: The import command asks me to insert media into slot “x”, what do I do next?
A: When the user issues an import command (or inject command under the Windows 2000 native backup application) from the software an informational screen will appear indicating that media can now be added to the autoloader in slot “x”. At this point you must go to the front panel of the autoloader and import (insert) the cartridge using the Operator Control Panel. Once the cartridge is imported you must respond to the software by clicking “Okay”.

Q: (For Windows
2000 Native Backup Application only) When I perform
the "Door Access" command nothing seems to happen. What does the "Door Access"
command do and how do I properly perform this command?
A: During normal operations of the
PowerVault 122T Autoloader the Operator Control Panel functionality is locked by
the software to prevent inadvertent addition or removal of cartridges during
normal operations. Issuing the
“Door Access” command unlocks the front panel and allows the user to manipulate
the cartridges via the Operator Control Panel.
Note: When you respond to the software prompt
by clicking “OK” a full inventory will be performed.
Q: (For Windows 2000 Native Backup
Application only) When I perform the "Eject" command I get a wizard that
tells me to remove the media from slot "x". How do I remove this
media?
A: Once the “Eject” command is issued a
screen will come up indicating that you should now go to the PowerVault 122T
autoloader front panel and, using the Operator Control Panel, export the media
from the slot you want to eject.
Note: When you respond to the software prompt
by clicking “OK” a full inventory will be performed.
